This amazing landscape has some of the most diverse wildlife but what was so surprising to me is how well they lived together in this slice of paradise right on the Equator.

A group of sea lions gave chase to our zodiac. Svelte swimmers made it look effortless to keep up with us and was like a group of dogs chasing cars.

While heading out to snorkel, we came across this young sea lion that had a plastic garbage can lid around its neck. Our guide Roberto went to try to help but ended up calling the park rangers to see if they could come out and remove the lid. With so much beauty to this remote environment, we still found a lot of evidence of how plastics and human garbage endangers wildlife and these marine sanctuaries regardless of how far from land they are.
