I had the opportunity to visit the Houston Zoo for the opening of the world’s first Galapagos exhibit. Because the wildlife of the Galapagos is protected, similar species were used in the exhibit to represent the experience of being in the native habitat and it did not disappoint. Amazing attention to detail and the visitor experience was fantastic. I went to the Houston zoo as a child and while it has changed so much over the years, the awe and wonder of these amazing animals continues to bring joy to faces of adults and children in the same way. A really wonderful primer in advance of visiting the Galápagos Islands themselves!
